Job Description We are looking for a Director of Engineering, Camera who will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineering resources in the full life cycle development and delivery of next-generation digital Camera Mirror Systems (CMS) and ADAS vision systems. This is an opportunity to directly impact vehicle safety, driver experience, and autonomous capabilities. You will drive leading-edge technology and innovation for Stoneridge customers while ensuring high-performance, safety-compliant, and scalable solutions. This role will report to the VP, Engineering & Innovation and can be remote (EU) or based across any of our locations in Europe.The role requires regular travel within Europe. What You'll Be Doing We are looking for a hands-on technology leader who can bridge: Imaging excellence (optics + ISP)Automotive safety & complianceScalable product delivery across global teams The Role Responsibilities Are As Follows EngineeringOwn end-to-end system architecture, including sensor, optics, ISP, ECU, and display integrationEnsure delivery of homologation-ready CMS solutions compliant with UN R46 standards, focusing on low latency, high reliability, and safetyMonitor engineering project progress, maintains high-level oversight, and ensure targets for budget, quality, delivery, and functionality are metDrive platform scalability and cost optimization across product linesDevelop proposals for product improvements and new product innovations aligned with market needs LeadershipDefine & execute the camera product line strategy (CMS + ADAS platforms) ; set priorities and execute according to planCreate strong relationships with Business Development/Sales, Product Line Management, Advanced Product Development, and Program Management to develop new business, expand customer relationships, and exceed launch expectationsFormulate short- and long-term objectives for engineering teams and ensure the team has the required capabilitiesOwn budget planning and management, including proposing annual plans and managing cost targets Customer InteractionClearly translate complex technical solutions into business value, adapting messaging to different stakeholders while addressing customer needsIdentify client challenges and align tailored CMS and ADAS solutions to their strategic and operational goalsConnect engineering solutions to measurable business outcomes such as ROI, cost efficiency, and competitive positioning What You'll Need 12–15+ years in automotive engineering with strong focus on camera mirror systems (CMS), imaging and ADAS or vision-based systemsMinimum 5 years in a technical leadership role, preferably within a global automotive organizationDeep understanding of sensor + optics integration, ISP tuning, and low-light/HDR imaging; familiarity with UN R46 homologation requirements is a strong advantageProven track record of leading global engineering teams and delivering successful SOP launchesKnowledge of automotive development methodologies (ASPICE) and automotive core tools (IATF16949, APQP, DFMEA); Experience with functional safety (ISO 26262) and awareness of SOTIF (ISO 21448)Strong problem-solving skills, including 8D methodology (Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus)Strong communication and people management skills with a demonstrated ability to operate effectively in global, cross-cultural environmentsWillingness and ability to travel globally
