Description

About Us Aerotalon is the only unified operations platform for global aviation operators. Our goal is to unify scheduling, compliance, maintenance tracking, and crew management into one system. Our systems fly on business jets, large airlines, helicopters and we work directly with airlines to get equipment certified and into service. About the Role Twelve months in, you'll have taken a satellite tracking unit from schematic through DO-160 qualification and into a certification program owning the RF chain, the board design, the antenna integration, and the test campaign that proves it works at 45,000 feet. Role Description Own the electrical design of the in aircraft unit schematic capture, PCB layout direction, component selection, and design reviewsDesign and characterize the SATCOM RF front end and integrate the antenna against real airframe constraints (placement, drag, obstruction, ground plane)Design sensing chains across all aspects of an aircrafts operating conditionsBuild and defend calibration and drift-management strategy across different components and sensorsBuild to hard power, weight, and size constraintsOwn DO-160 environmental qualificationProduce the hardware artifacts a DO-254 / EUROCAE ED-80 design assurance process requires, and support the TSO/STC submission with the certification leadIntegrate with aircraft data buses and GNSS sourcesSupport bring-up, EMI/EMC debug, and flight test About You Required 3 - 6 years designing production electronic hardware, with at least one product you took from concept through qualificationHands on RF design experience with link budgets, low-noise front ends, impedance matching, and the lab skills to debug itStrong analog and mixed-signal fundamentalsWorking knowledge of DO-160, or equivalent experience qualifying hardware to a demanding environmental standardComfort with schematic capture and PCB tools (Altium, Cadence, or similar) and with directing layoutBS in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience Preferred Experience with a TSO or STC certification effortGas sensing experience (NDIR, photoacoustic, or electrochemical), particularly in sealed or pressure-varying environmentsFamiliarity with satellite communication systems specifically Iridium, or a comparable constellationADS-B, Mode S, or aviation surveillance backgroundExposure to GADSS autonomous distress tracking requirementsAntenna design or airframe integration experience
