As NXGEN continues to grow and expand, we are currently looking for a talented DevOps Engineer to join our team.
Role Description
The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for building, operating, and continuously improving the infrastructure that supports NXGEN’s applications and services.
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Amman, Jordan.
The role focuses on Kubernetes, AWS, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, networking, observability, security, and system reliability.
The DevOps Engineer will work closely with software engineering and other technical teams to ensure reliable deployments, scalable infrastructure, strong system performance, and efficient operations.
The role also involves troubleshooting production incidents, participating in on-call activities, improving automation, optimizing cloud costs, and maintaining clear documentation and operational runbooks.
Responsibilities
Operate and continuously improve Kubernetes clusters, including workload scheduling, autoscaling, resource management, upgrades, ingress, and cluster networkingManage AWS infrastructure across compute, networking, IAM, storage, and securityBuild, maintain, and extend Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible, or similar toolsBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, including build optimization, artifact management, and safe deployment practicesOwn VPN, remote access, and network connectivity between environmentsMaintain observability using tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, including effective monitoring and alertingParticipate in on-call rotations and lead or support incident response and post-incident reviewsDrive AWS cost optimization through right-sizing, resource management, storage lifecycle policies, and infrastructure optimizationSupport security and compliance initiatives, including SOC 2 and ISO 27001 requirementsManage backup and disaster recovery processes and regularly test restoration proceduresDevelop automation and operational workflows using Bash, Python, Go, or similar scripting languagesCreate and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational proceduresCollaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment reliability, system performance, security, and overall infrastructure efficiency
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience3+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure EngineeringStrong production experience with Kubernetes, including cluster operations and troubleshootingStrong hands-on experience with AWS, with deep expertise in at least one core areaSolid Linux administration and troubleshooting skillsStrong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, routing, firewalls, and VPNsHands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormationExperience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines; Jenkins experience is a plusScripting experience with Bash and Python or GoStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work effectively under pressure and remain calm during production incidents and on-call situationsStrong communication skills in English and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams
