Pay Range: $63.00 – $70.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-time, Contract | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Contract Duration: Through November 2027

Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior AMI Engineer to support the validation, testing, and deployment of next-generation Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI 2.0) solutions within a large-scale electric utility environment.
This position will work closely with internal engineering and operations teams as well as external metering vendors to validate metering hardware and functionality, support system integration and testing, troubleshoot technical issues, and prepare AMI technologies for field deployment.
The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with AMI, smart metering, smart grid technologies, system testing, and utility metering environments.
Key Responsibilities
Support technical validation of AMI 2.0 metering solutions, including hardware and system functionalityConduct functionality and hardware specification testing of qualified metering solutionsSupport integration and system testing of AMI technologies and grid management applicationsCollaborate directly with metering vendors on solution development, technical issues, and product enhancementsEvaluate AMI system interoperability and technical feasibilityTroubleshoot metering technologies, customer applications, and field toolsSupport deployment and troubleshooting of AMI 2.0 technologiesParticipate in AMI 2.0 Field Test pilots supporting foundational use casesIdentify and resolve technical issues discovered during testing and deployment preparationDevelop procedures, technical documentation, and job aids for Field Technicians and Meter Operations teamsSupport field readiness and pre-deployment activitiesCoordinate with engineering, IT, operations, vendors, and other cross-functional stakeholdersSupport change management activities associated with AMI 2.0 deployment
