Company Description Farm Concepts develops intelligent robotic systems for agriculture and logistics. Our projects include autonomous harvesting robots and mobile robots that automate material handling and other repetitive operations. We work across robotics, computer vision, machine learning, embedded systems, and software engineering to build practical automation solutions that operate in real-world environments. Role Description We are looking for a Software Engineer to join us on a contract basis, working on the software infrastructure for managing a fleet of autonomous robots. The project involves designing and developing a backend service responsible for integrating our robotic system with an external platform and coordinating work across multiple robots. • Designing and implementing a REST API for communication with external systems • Integrating with a third-party system through its API • Designing the data model and persistence layer for robots, jobs, missions, and their states • Designing and implementing scheduling and allocation algorithms to efficiently distribute missions across a fleet of robots • Managing asynchronous interactions with robots and external services • Handling failures, retries, timeouts, and changes in robot availability • Developing tools and interfaces for monitoring and administering the system • Writing automated tests and assisting with integration and deployment The technology stack is: Python · FastAPI · SQLModel · SQLite · Uvicorn · HTTPX · Pydantic · Jinja · SQLAdmin Qualifications • Strong software development skills in Python • Good understanding of Linux and software development in a Linux environment • Experience designing APIs and integrating with external systems • Understanding of asynchronous programming, networking, concurrency, and distributed systems • Experience using AI-assisted development tools • Ability to design algorithms and reason about scheduling, state, failures, and system behaviour • Ability to write reliable, maintainable, and well-structured software • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of technical problems
