About The Role We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer / AI Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining the backend services that power our AI-driven platforms. Your work will directly influence the reliability, security, and efficiency of our solutions, ensuring they meet the high standards required for handling sensitive data and complex AI integrations. You will collaborate closely with frontend developers, data scientists, and AI specialists to build a robust infrastructure that supports innovative AI functionalities such as semantic search, knowledge retrieval, and integration of large language models. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in backend development, demonstrating proficiency with modern, type-safe programming languages such as Go, Rust, Java, or C#. You should possess a solid understanding of API design, real-time data streaming, and concurrent programming, with a focus on performance optimization. Experience with semantic search, AI-powered retrieval, and managing large datasets is essential. Familiarity with integrating AI and LLM services, containerization technologies, Linux environments, and CI/CD pipelines is required. Additionally, you should have strong database knowledge, both relational and for search or vector data, and a keen awareness of data privacy, security, and multi-tenant architecture principles. Excellent communication skills in German are necessary for effective collaboration within our team and with clients. Responsibilities Develop and operate backend services supporting our AI assistants, ensuring reliable access to knowledge bases for multiple client projects.Enhance search functionalities to deliver accurate and relevant content retrieval, optimizing response times and user experience.Maintain the scalability and speed of large knowledge repositories, overseeing their architecture, operation, and quality assurance.Integrate language models (LLMs) and prepare data pipelines required for their effective deployment.Implement and manage integrations with various AI providers, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations such as GDPR and maintaining data sovereignty within Europe.Guarantee fast, reliable responses even under high concurrent request loads, optimizing system throughput and stability.Ensure strict separation and security of customer data, managing access controls and permissions meticulously.Contribute to architectural decisions and collaborate closely with frontend, data, and AI teams to deliver cohesive solutions.
