Software Engineer II

Overview Job Purpose We are seeking an experienced Software Developer (Level 2) to join our innovative development team. In this role, you will contribute to the design and development of our applications while taking ownership of specific components and features. You will work in an AI-forward engineering culture, leveraging tools like Claude to accelerate development, improve code quality, and solve complex problems more effectively. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain web applications using C# and .NET for backend services and React for frontend developmentImplement new features and enhancements to existing functionality with moderate guidanceWrite clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and team standardsCreate and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate them with React-based frontendsLeverage Claude as a core development tool to accelerate workflows including code generation, documentation, and code review assistanceCollaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutionsTroubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues in both backend and frontend systems, using AI-assisted tools to diagnose and resolve issues fasterParticipate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedbackWrite and maintain unit tests to ensure code quality and functionality, including AI-assisted test generation and coverage analysisContribute to database design and development using SQLStay current with relevant technologies, frameworks, and emerging AI/LLM capabilities relevant to the team's stackProvide occasional guidance to junior developers, including sharing effective AI-assisted development practices Knowledge And Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)2–4+ years of professional software development experienceStrong knowledge of C# and the .NET ecosystem (e.g., .NET Core, ASP.NET Core)Experience with React and its ecosystem (hooks, state management)Proficiency with modern JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScriptExperience with SQL and relational database conceptsUnderstanding of web application security principlesExperience with version control systems (Git)Familiarity with Agile development methodologiesStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailExcellent communication and collaboration abilitiesComfort using Claude as a daily development tool for tasks such as code generation, debugging assistance, and documentation Preferred Knowledge And Experience Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)Knowledge of containerization concepts (Docker)Experience with AWSExperience with Java or Spring Boot as a secondary backend languageFamiliarity with microservices architectureExperience with automated testing frameworksUnderstanding of responsive design and accessibility standardsKnowledge of performance optimization techniquesExperience using Claude effectively across the software development lifecycle, from design through testing and deploymentFamiliarity with getting the most out of Claude through clear prompting and understanding its strengths and limitations in a dev context Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
