Description
We are seeking a Senior Engineer with expertise in C++, Go, or Rust to join the team responsible for building the application layer that combines single-application observability data into end-to-end insight for the client's Real-Time platform.
This role applies technical knowledge to design, build, and improve the software and infrastructure that makes the customer experience of the client's exchange data and feeds measurable across over 100 million financial instruments in over 34 countries.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain the application components that aggregate, correlate, and present observability data from individual services into unified, end-to-end views of the Real-Time platformImplement customer-centric aggregation and hotspot detection algorithms that reflect timeliness, completeness, accuracy, and stability of market data across the Real-Time estateDevelop and extend telemetry pipelines that ingest, transform, and route metrics, traces, and logs from distributed services into a coherent observability layerDesign and build custom synthetic monitoring agents deployed across hundreds of global sites to continuously measure customer experience of Real-Time data from the edgeImplement GitOps/API-driven workflows for observability assets to ensure consistent deployment, versioning, and promotion through build pipelinesCollaborate with squads to integrate observability instrumentation into applications throughout Dev, Test, PPE, and Prod environments
Requirements
7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience building data-pipeline applications, including metrics aggregation, distributed tracing, or real-time streamingBackground in industry experience with latency-sensitive or market data systemsProficiency in at least one systems-level language (C++, Go, or Rust) and one scripting/application language (Python, Java, or TypeScript)Understanding of C++ to comprehend existing applicationsBackground in building and operating custom synthetic monitoring solutions at scale, including lightweight agents distributed across geographically diverse sitesFamiliarity with OpenTelemetry SDKs, collectors, and schema conventions for instrumentation and telemetry exportSkills in cloud-native, containerized, and Kubernetes environments, including deploying and operating services at scaleProficiency with API- and GitOps-based workflows, config-as-code, and CI/CD pipelines for infrastructureShowcase of a strong analytical mindset for modeling complex distributed-system behaviors and understanding customer impactCapability to communicate effectively across squads and simplify system performance concepts for broader stakeholdersProficiency in English at a B2+ level
