About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cybersecurity Software Engineer to join our team in Linthicum Heights, MD. This role is integral to enhancing the security posture of national security systems by providing expert support for cryptographic solutions and network security products. The successful candidate will work on the Cryptographic Solutions Program, developing and testing secure software solutions that protect sensitive information across the Intelligence Community. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to national security initiatives through innovative cybersecurity engineering, software development, and cryptographic analysis. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Candidates with four (4) additional years of relevant software engineering experience may substitute for a formal degree. Extensive experience—at least fourteen (14) years—in software engineering within programs of similar scope, complexity, and technical requirements is essential. Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is mandatory, ensuring the candidate has the necessary authorization to work on sensitive projects. A strong understanding of low-level network protocols, cryptographic principles, and secure software development practices is required to succeed in this role. Responsibilities Provide advanced engineering, cybersecurity analysis, and cryptographic solutions to improve the security posture, testing, and certification of products deployed across the Intelligence Community (IC).Drive innovation in data protection, high-assurance encryption, and secure computing architecture to support modern national security infrastructure.Design, develop, and implement software solutions using programming languages such as Python and JavaScript, applying functional programming paradigms when appropriate.Author comprehensive unit, integration, and system-level test suites to ensure software robustness and security.Utilize markup and data-interchange formats including YAML, JSON, and HTML to facilitate configuration, data exchange, and documentation tasks.Build and maintain software within modern Linux and Windows environments, leveraging tools such as VS Code, Docker, GitLab CI/CD, and Scapy for efficient development and deployment.Apply deep domain knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, OSI model) and cryptographic principles (PKI, symmetric/asymmetric encryption, hashing) to develop secure software solutions.
