About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic technology team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and reliable AWS infrastructure that underpins our suite of language learning products. Your expertise will help streamline development workflows, enhance system observability, and ensure robust security practices are embedded throughout the delivery pipeline. As a key collaborator across engineering, security, and operations teams, you will drive the adoption of modern DevOps methodologies, tools, and best practices to accelerate our product development lifecycle while maintaining high standards of security and compliance. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cloud infrastructure, automation, and security with proven experience in a DevOps or similar role. Candidates should have: Extensive hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation, and other core services.Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.Familiarity with security best practices, compliance standards, and incident response procedures.Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues effectively.Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities As a Senior DevOps Engineer at VHL, your key responsibilities will include: Designing, building, and optimizing scalable AWS infrastructure solutions that support our product teams’ needs.Developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code to enable consistent, repeatable deployments across multiple environments.Creating, managing, and improving CI/CD pipelines to facilitate rapid, reliable software delivery.Automating operational tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and leading incident response efforts to minimize downtime.Implementing security best practices and ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal policies.Collaborating with development, security, and operations teams to embed security and reliability into the software delivery lifecycle.Contributing to the continuous improvement of DevOps processes, tools, and workflows.
