About The Role Moody's Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join its Digital Content and Innovation team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and AI-powered features that support Moody's innovative data products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, product managers, and fellow engineers, to build scalable, reliable, and efficient cloud-native applications that leverage artificial intelligence to transform risk assessment and decision-making processes. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.Minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on backend services, microservices, and cloud-native applications.Proficiency in programming languages such as TypeScript, Python, C#, or similar, with demonstrated experience in building scalable APIs and distributed systems.Hands-on experience developing enterprise AI applications utilizing large language models, retrieval augmented generation, orchestration frameworks, and model optimization techniques.Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, scalability, security best practices, and performance tuning.Experience with cloud technologies, serverless architectures, event-driven systems, data pipelines, and observability tools.Proven ability to own projects end-to-end, from design through deployment and operational support with minimal supervision.Experience mentoring engineering teams, conducting code reviews, and promoting best practices in software development.Knowledge of AI risk management, responsible AI principles, and ethical AI deployment. Responsibilities As a Senior Software Engineer within Moody's Digital Content and Innovation team, your core responsibilities will include: Designing, coding, testing, and deploying backend services, APIs, and data pipelines that support both real-time and batch AI workloads.Owning the full lifecycle of assigned features and components, ensuring seamless integration, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.Building and enhancing features for large language model applications, including retrieval augmented generation, agent frameworks, and tool integrations.Participating in technical design discussions, reviews, and risk assessments to identify trade-offs and alternative solutions.Implementing automated testing, monitoring, and observability practices to ensure operational excellence and reliability.Applying machine learning operations (MLOps) best practices, including model versioning, automated evaluation, deployment pipelines, and issue resolution.Collaborating closely with product managers, data scientists, and engineers to translate business requirements into robust software solutions.Mentoring junior engineers, contributing to shared frameworks, documenting system architectures, and advocating for responsible AI practices across projects.
