CHRS is used by Bureau of Clearances and Records to process the arrest and criminal history of all NYS applicants requesting a position in Child Care or individuals requesting to become a foster or adoptive parent, within NYS. This includes anyone over the age of 18 residing in the households of Foster or Adoptive Parent Applicants or a Family or Group Family Child Day Care Home Applicant.
