The consultancy delivers mechanical, electrical, sustainability, building physics and Passivhaus design services across a diverse range of projects including heritage, education, commercial, healthcare, hospitality, transport infrastructure, residential and public sector developments. With a collaborative team of over 60 professionals across multiple UK offices, the business is recognised for delivering efficient, sustainable building services solutions that prioritise both environmental performance and occupant wellbeing. You'll work closely with colleagues across the wider business on technically challenging projects while benefiting from genuine opportunities for career progression. The Role As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of mechanical building services projects from feasibility through to completion. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you'll take responsibility for managing projects, mentoring junior engineers and ensuring the successful delivery of high–quality mechanical designs across a wide variety of sectors. The Role Will Include Leading the design and delivery of mechanical building services projectsCarrying out project surveys and feasibility studiesProducing mechanical designs, calculations, specifications and technical reportsManaging projects from concept through to handoverUndertaking site inspections and supervising mechanical services installationsProviding contract administration support throughout project deliveryManaging project programmes, workflows and key milestonesSupervising, mentoring and supporting junior engineers and techniciansEnsuring compliance with internal quality assurance procedures and industry standardsWorking closely with clients, architects, contractors and multidisciplinary design teamsAssisting with fee proposals, project financial management and business development opportunitiesCollaborating with colleagues across multiple office locations Requirements The Successful Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Will Ideally Have A Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline3–5 years' experience within mechanical building services designExperience managing and mentoring junior engineersExperience delivering projects across multiple sectorsStrong technical knowledge of mechanical building services designExperience using relevant mechanical design softwareAutoCAD experienceExcellent communication and client–facing skillsStrong organisational and project management abilitiesGood attention to detailCompetent user of Microsoft OfficeFull UK driving licence and access to transport Desirable Experience Includes Revit experienceExperience with building services modelling softwareKnowledge of BIM processes and digital design workflows What's on Offer Competitive salaryHybrid working25 days annual leave plus bank holidaysCareer progression and internal promotion opportunitiesPrivate healthcarePerformance and reward schemesRetail and lifestyle discount platformAdditional holiday purchase schemeCycle to work schemeRegular company social eventsOngoing technical and professional developmentSupportive and collaborative working environment Why Apply?
