About The Role Motional is seeking a highly skilled Staff Front End Engineer to join its Web Visualization Tooling team. This pivotal role involves developing and maintaining critical web-based tooling and visualization systems that support machine learning engineers and other internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will play a key part in enhancing feedback loops, improving system performance, and ensuring the scalability and maintainability of our frontend ecosystem. You will be responsible for defining and driving best practices in web development, architecting modern frontend solutions using React, TypeScript, and Vue, and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams including ML, UX, data services, and data annotation. The role requires a proactive approach to building mission-critical UI systems, designing complex workflows, and delivering high-quality, data-heavy visualizations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, product-driven environment, demonstrating ownership, autonomy, and a passion for creating intuitive user experiences that empower our teams to innovate and succeed.
