About The Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Front-End Developer to join our dynamic team, focusing on the development and evolution of our comprehensive design system. This role is pivotal in shaping the user interface components that underpin our digital products, ensuring they are scalable, reusable, and maintainable. As a key contributor, you will work closely with designers, product managers, and fellow developers to translate design principles into functional, high-quality code. Your expertise will help establish consistent user experiences across all applications, enhance performance, and support advanced theming capabilities to accommodate various brand identities and user preferences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in modern front-end frameworks, web components, and CSS techniques, along with a passion for creating elegant, user-focused solutions that align with business objectives and technical standards. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess over 8 years of professional experience in front-end development, with a significant focus on building and scaling design systems. You should have expert-level proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, along with extensive experience working with modern frameworks such as Angular and React. A deep understanding of CSS, including pre-processors, CSS variables, variable stacking, and robust color systems, is essential. Experience with Web Components and their application in large-scale systems is highly desirable. Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record in managing complex theming architectures, version control, and dependency management within component libraries. Excellent communication skills are necessary to collaborate effectively across teams and articulate technical concepts clearly. A passion for thorough documentation and creating working code demonstrations is also required. Responsibilities Lead the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our design system, ensuring it is scalable, reusable, and aligned with best practices.Architect and implement web components that serve as the foundational building blocks for user interfaces across products.Develop advanced theming solutions to support multiple brand identities and user preferences, utilizing CSS variables, variable stacking, and sophisticated color systems.Manage the full lifecycle of design system components, including development, deployment, versioning, and ongoing maintenance.Oversee library and package dependency management to maintain a stable and efficient development environment.Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including designers and product managers—to translate design concepts into functional technical solutions.Champion best practices in front-end development, performance optimization, and accessibility standards.Mentor junior developers and guide teams on design system principles and implementation strategies.Create comprehensive documentation and guidelines to assist designers and developers in utilizing the design system effectively.Develop working code demonstrations and prototypes to showcase component capabilities and usage scenarios.
