Description

Lance (YC W26) builds autonomous AI agents that run hotel operations. Our agents answer calls, close sales, coordinate housekeeping, and execute complex multi-step tasks, all by navigating existing hotel software the same way a human would (no APIs or integrations required). We're trusted by leading hotel groups across the US, supporting 50+ properties under brands like Marriott, Hilton, and Hyatt. We're a small, fast-moving team in San Francisco with $5M in funding. The Role As a Software Engineering Intern at Lance, you'll work directly with our founding engineers on the core systems powering our AI agents. You'll ship real features (not small projects) and have meaningful ownership over the things you build. This is a hands-on, on-site role at our SF office. What You'll Work On Building and improving our computer-use agent infrastructure that lets AI navigate hotel software in real timeDeveloping voice and messaging pipelines that handle guest communication at scaleDesigning backend systems and APIs that support multi-step task execution across the hospitality tech stackImproving reliability, latency, and observability across our agent platformCollaborating closely with founders to prototype and ship new product features fast What We're Looking For Strong CS fundamentals and experience with Python and/or TypeScriptExperience building and shipping real software (side projects, internships, research - all count)Comfort working in fast-moving, ambiguous environmentsGenuine curiosity about AI agents, LLMs, and what it takes to make them work reliably in productionBased in or willing to relocate to San Francisco for the duration of the internship
