Hotel Management Software Consultant (Domain Expert + PMS/Hospitality-Tech Advisor

Company: SMTECH TECHNOLOGY — Kathmandu, Nepal Engagement type: Consulting (Project-based to start, ongoing retainer possible) Location: Remote / Hybrid (Kathmandu preferred, but open to international consultants) About Us SMTECH is a Kathmandu-based software company (est. 2013) serving 3,000+ clients across Nepal through our Smart ERP platform — covering POS, restaurant, retail, hotel management, and accounting software. We're expanding our Hotel Management module and are building OTA channel manager integrations. We're looking for an experienced consultant to guide us before and during development. What We Need We're looking for someone who deeply understands how hotels actually operate — front office, reservations, housekeeping, night audit, F&B/POS integration, group bookings, rate management — and who is also familiar with world-class hotel PMS systems (Oracle OPERA, Mews, Cloudbeds, IDS Next, Protel, or similar), so we can build a system that's both practical and competitive with the best in the industry. Role & Responsibilities Review our existing Smart ERP hotel management module and identify gaps vs. industry-standard PMS systemsDefine must-have vs. nice-to-have features based on real hotel operational workflowsAdvise on system architecture, data flow, and integration points (PMS ↔ POS ↔ channel manager ↔ accounting)Guide our OTA channel manager integration strategy (we're currently evaluating RateGain-style API partnerships)Provide ongoing consultation during development — reviewing specs, testing workflows, answering developer questionsRecommend fast, efficient approaches to get a competitive product to market without unnecessary delaysIdeal Background Experience in hotel operations (GM, revenue manager, front office/ops leadership) and/orExperience implementing or building hotel PMS/booking systems (OPERA, Mews, Cloudbeds, IDS Next, etc.)Familiarity with OTA integrations, channel managers, and rate parity managementPrior consulting experience with software companies or hospitality tech vendors is a plusSouth Asian/Nepal hospitality market knowledge is a strong plus, but not requiredEngagement Structure Phase 1: Paid discovery/audit (2–4 weeks) — feature gap analysis + prioritized roadmapPhase 2: Ongoing advisory retainer through development and post-launchHow to Apply Interested consultants can send their profile/CV and relevant experience to [career@smtechme.com/LinkedIn DM].
