About The Role We are seeking an experienced Java Developer specializing in SIP/VoIP technologies to join our client's dynamic team on a 6-month contract basis, located in Ipswich with a hybrid work model. This role is inside IR35, offering an excellent opportunity to work on next-generation voice and communication platforms. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale telecom services that leverage cloud technologies and AI-powered voice solutions. The position requires a proactive individual with a passion for innovation, capable of troubleshooting complex voice network issues, and integrating emerging technologies to enhance communication services. Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in Java development with a focus on telecom or voice environments. Essential qualifications include proven experience with SIP, VoIP, RTP/RTCP, and SDP protocols. Familiarity with JAIN SLEE and SIP Servlet frameworks is required, along with hands-on experience working with voice platforms such as FreeSWITCH and Asterisk. Cloud platform expertise across AWS, Azure, or GCP is essential, demonstrating the ability to deploy and support voice solutions in cloud environments. Strong troubleshooting skills, particularly within telecoms or voice networks, are vital for success in this role. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field is preferred. Responsibilities Develop and enhance SIP-based voice applications using Java, ensuring high performance and scalability.Work with frameworks such as JAIN SLEE and SIP Servlet to build robust voice communication solutions.Support, maintain, and integrate voice platforms including FreeSWITCH and Asterisk to ensure seamless operation.Deploy and manage voice solutions across cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, optimizing for reliability and security.Integrate advanced AI-driven voice services, including Speech-to-Text and Text-to-Speech functionalities, to enhance user experience.Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to voice quality, call routing, and network performance to maintain service excellence.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new features and improve existing voice communication systems.Stay updated with emerging telecoms and voice technology trends, recommending innovative solutions to improve platform capabilities.
