Description
Become a Photonics Engineer for LISA Laser System at SpaceTech
SpaceTech is developing key technologies for some of Europe's most ambitious space missions.
As part of the LISA (Laser Interferometer Space Antenna) mission, we are contributing to the development of the LISA Laser System (LLS), a highly stable and reliable laser source that enables the detection of gravitational waves from space.
To strengthen our growing LLS team, we are looking for a Photonics Engineer with a strong background in photonic technologies and component qualification for demanding space applications.
Your Mission as Photonics Engineer for LISA Laser System at SpaceTech
As a Photonics Engineer within the LISA Laser System team, you will be responsible for defining, selecting, and characterizing critical photonic components used in one of the most demanding laser systems ever developed for space.
You will work closely with system and optical engineers, and industrial partners across Europe to ensure that all photonic components meet the stringent performance and reliability requirements of the mission.
Your Responsibilities as Photonics Engineer for LISA Laser System at SpaceTech
Support the definition of technical requirements and specifications for photonic components within the LISA Laser System
Define, select, and procure photonic devices and subsystems, including:
Fiber coupled laser diodes
Fiber couplers and splitters
Phase modulators
Optical isolators
Photodiodes
Develop and execute characterization tests and support qualification test campaigns
Work with suppliers and industrial partners to improve component performance and manufacturability
Support design reviews, trade-off analyses, and technical documentation activities
Your Profile as Photonics Engineer for LISA Laser System at SpaceTech
