Role Description
The Corporate Development Analyst / Corporate Development Specialist / Corporate Development Manager is responsible for evaluating and executing strategic growth opportunities that support the organization’s long-term business objectives.
This role focuses on corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), strategic investments, partnerships, market expansion, and other initiatives designed to strengthen the company’s competitive position and create sustainable business value.
Key responsibilities include identifying and evaluating potential acquisition targets, investment opportunities, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, and new market opportunities.
The role conducts industry and company research, competitive analysis, financial analysis, valuation, due diligence, and business case development to support senior management decision-making.
The successful candidate will build and maintain financial models, including valuation models, scenario analyses, forecasts, and transaction models.
Responsibilities may also include reviewing financial statements, assessing business performance, analyzing market trends, preparing investment presentations, and evaluating the strategic and financial implications of potential transactions.
The position works closely with Finance, Strategy, Legal, Accounting, Tax, Business Development, Operations, and senior leadership teams throughout the transaction lifecycle.
This may include supporting deal sourcing, preliminary evaluation, due diligence, negotiation, transaction execution, regulatory processes, and post-merger integration.
At the management level, the role may lead complex corporate development projects, coordinate external advisors, manage transaction workstreams, develop acquisition and investment strategies, negotiate commercial terms, and present strategic recommendations to executive leadership or investment committees.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Corporate Finance, or a related field.Relevant experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, corporate finance, strategy, or M&A.Strong understanding of mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, corporate strategy, and transaction processes.Experience conducting financial analysis, company valuation, market research, and investment assessments.Strong financial modeling skills, including DCF, comparable company analysis, precedent transaction analysis, and scenario modeling.Ability to analyze financial statements, business performance, market dynamics, and potential investment returns.Experience supporting due diligence, transaction evaluation, deal execution, or post-merger integration activities.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.Strong analytical, quantitative, research, and problem-solving capabilities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare executive-level presentations and recommendations.Ability to manage multiple projects, transactions, and priorities within demanding timelines.Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to collaborate with Finance, Legal, Strategy, Operations, and external advisors.High attention to detail when working with financial, commercial, and transaction-related information.Professional qualifications such as CFA, CPA, ACCA, MBA, or equivalent credentials are advantageous but not always required.
