About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled IT System Engineer specializing in Infrastructure Services to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our IT infrastructure, with a focus on Linux server environments and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes. Your expertise will ensure the stability, security, and efficiency of our IT operations, supporting the bank's digital transformation initiatives. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a reputable financial institution, working on innovative projects and implementing modern automation and deployment strategies. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and possesses a strong understanding of ITIL processes, automation tools, and cloud-native technologies. Qualifications The successful candidate will possess a completed IT-related education or degree, or equivalent professional experience. You should have several years of practical experience in operating Linux servers, particularly RHEL, and managing Kubernetes clusters in demanding, regulated environments. Proficiency in automation tools such as Ansible, and experience with version control systems like Git/GitLab, are essential. Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Helm, Kustomize, and ArgoCD, along with familiarity with GitOps principles, is required. Additionally, experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Proxmox, or Suse Hypervisor, and blade infrastructure, will be advantageous. Strong analytical and structured working methods, excellent communication skills in German, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams are also key qualifications. Responsibilities Operate and administer our Linux server infrastructure based on RHEL, ensuring high availability and security standards.Manage and support Kubernetes environments, guaranteeing reliable deployment and operation of applications and services.Automate routine tasks and operational processes to improve efficiency and standardization within the infrastructure.Utilize GitLab for version control and support a modern, collaborative development workflow.Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to facilitate controlled, reproducible, and secure deployments.Create and update deployment configurations in Kubernetes, advancing our GitOps strategies.Implement ongoing security measures to safeguard the IT infrastructure against emerging threats.Apply ITIL processes in daily operations, supporting incident, change, and problem management activities.
