Description

About Affinda Group Affinda Group is a fast-growing AI transformation company. We help enterprises automate complex business processes through our agentic AI platform, deliver high-impact AI solutions, and train teams to use AI properly. The Affinda platform combines advanced language models, retrieval-augmented generation, and configurable workflows so organisations can extract data, orchestrate processes, and embed AI safely into their day-to-day operations. We are growing revenue at 100% year on year, have 2,000+ customers globally and a team of ~100 people in 10 countries. We are well capitalised and are currently investing in multiple growth engines to accelerate our ambition of becoming an Australian AI company of global significance. The Role You will build AI solutions for enterprise clients alongside our senior engineers. Retrieval systems, agents, integrations into whatever stack the client already runs, and the evaluation pipelines that prove the thing works before it goes live. Work here does not arrive as a clean ticket queue. You will be on site with us during discovery, listening to how a business operates before anyone writes code, and you may sit inside the client's team through build and deployment. A senior engineer owns the architecture and the client relationship, so you are never carrying that alone. You own real pieces of the build, and those pieces grow as the year goes on. We want you exploring. Read the papers, build the thing nobody asked for, break the new model and tell us what you found. This field moves faster than any one person can track, which is why we need everyone bringing something back. This role suits someone early in their career who wants client exposure most engineers wait years for. What makes this role special You see the whole thing. Requirements gathering, architecture, build, evaluation, deployment. You get the full picture rather than one slice of a backlogA new domain every engagement. Insurance, healthcare, energy, whatever comes next. You learn a business properly, then build for itRetrieval and evaluation, done seriously. Chunking, hybrid search, reranking, golden datasets, eval suites. We measure quality rather than assume it, and you will learn that from people who already work this waySecure enterprise AI inside real workflows. You will learn how agents go into systems a business already runs on, under real security and compliance constraints. Agent architecture, context engineering, and what it all costs to runSenior engineers who mentor. You get a named point of contact, code review, and someone to argue architecture with Key responsibilities Build features and services inside client solutions: retrieval pipelines, agents, APIs, integrations into client systemsWrite and run evaluations. Golden datasets, precision and recall measures, and results that justify a decision instead of instinctUse AI to build. Refine prompts, close the loop between generated code and code that runs and passes tests, and share what works with the rest of the teamAttend discovery sessions on site. Ask your questions, including the awkward onesSupport production deployment and hand the solution across cleanly. The client's team must be able to run it once we step backWatch cost and security in what you build. Inference costs climb quietly at scale, and a security or compliance concern gets raised the moment you see itShip in the client's stack. We lean Python, with React when a front end is needed, and you will pick up whatever the client already runs on What you'll bring Experience: You have built software beyond coursework, whether that is a couple of years in a job, an internship that turned into shipped work, or projects you can walk us through in detailBackend skills: Solid Python. You understand APIs, background jobs and working with a databaseAI hands-on: You have built something with LLMs yourself. A RAG pipeline, an agent, or perhaps an MCP server you wrote to see how it worked. What you built matters more than whereAI-native development: You use AI to write software, and you have more than one mode. Quick prototypes, structured plans, careful line-by-line review. You pick what the problem needsWillingness to be in the room: You sit in front of clients early. Running the meeting is not your job. Speaking when you have something worth saying, and asking when you do not follow Location Cremorne, VIC. We value in office connections with flexible working arrangements along with client site visits. Compensation & benefits This Full-time role offers a salary range of AUD$89,000 - $95,000 inc. super How to apply Please submit your CV and a cover letter. We're committed to fostering an inclusive workplace and welcome applications from all qualified individuals. We do not respond to unsolicited contact from recruitment agencies.
