The team integrates wireless engineering with AI/ML to enable seamless handover between LEO satellites and ground networks. This approach reduces latency, minimizes communication dropouts, and strengthens mission resilience in demanding operational environments. Applicants will join a focused, technical team working on cutting-edge network technologies that support critical, real-world missions. Only Canadian residents with eligibility for security clearance will be considered. Role Description The Senior Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain software solutions that power intelligent connectivity between satellite and terrestrial networks. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing backend services, optimizing system performance, contributing to architectural decisions, and collaborating with wireless and AI/ML engineers to integrate complex network features. The role also involves reviewing code, mentoring team members, ensuring software quality through testing, and participating in technical planning for new product capabilities. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Canada, with a mix of on-site collaboration and work-from-home flexibility. Qualifications 5-10 years of experience building complex solftware solution Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software architecture.Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience building production-grade systems.Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, working with APIs, services, and distributed systems.Advanced skills in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), including designing reusable, maintainable code.Experience with modern programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Java, or similar) and development tools.Background in Space, Defence networking, telecommunications, or systems involving satellites or wireless technologies is an asset.Experience with cloud platforms, containerization, or microservices architectures is beneficial.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment, communicate technical concepts clearly, and work effectively in a hybrid setting.
