About The Role This position performs complex research, design, and software development within our provider data management product line, and is expected to serve as the technical anchor for a cross-functional engineering squad. While this is an individual-contributor role, the successful candidate will operate with a high degree of technical ownership and influence—setting design direction, guiding the team through delivery, and acting as the primary technical point of contact across product, QA, and partner squads. You will balance hands-on engineering across a suite of full-stack Java/React applications with strong technical ownership: reviewing code, driving estimates and release readiness, resolving complex issues, and mentoring peers. You will also build and support Python-based data-processing and delivery pipelines that generate and transmit data to downstream clients, and work within our AI-accelerated software development lifecycle using approved AI coding assistants to raise quality and velocity. Over time, this role will help extend our platform toward a consolidated, next-generation healthcare data platform. Responsibilities Act as the squad's technical anchor, owning design direction and safeguarding quality, security, and performance across its applications, services, and data pipelines.Design/Build and maintain Java Spring Boot apps, React UI apps and Python-based data-processing and delivery pipelines, ensuring accurate, reliable, and timely data delivery to downstream clients.Lead code reviews and uphold coding best practices; complete complex feature development and bug fixes.Drive backlog refinement, technical estimation, and sprint/release readiness in an Agile environment.Serve as the primary technical liaison for cross-team dependencies, integrations, and risk resolution.Champion AI-accelerated SDLC practices and mentor peers on effective, responsible use of approved AI tooling. Qualifications BS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.5+ years of software engineering experience, with a demonstrated track record of owning technical direction and guiding delivery on a cross-functional team.Proven full-stack delivery in Java and a modern JavaScript framework, plus demonstrated Python experience building data-processing or data-delivery pipelines.Exposure to AI-assisted development workflows. Technical Skills Advanced proficiency in Java / J2EE and the Spring Boot framework for building RESTful microservices.Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and React for modern, component-based front ends.Proficiency in Python for building and maintaining data-processing and delivery pipelines—including data transformation, delta/batch file generation, validation, and automated client data delivery.Working knowledge of workflow orchestration and scheduled batch processing (e.g., Airflow or equivalent), and experience with distributed or large-scale data-processing frameworks.Solid grasp of relational and NoSQL data stores (SQL, document databases) and search/indexing technologies.Experience with cloud-native development on Azure (AKS, App Services, Cosmos, Others), Docker, and Kubernetes.Strong command of CI/CD (GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps), Git branching strategy, and test-driven development.AI-accelerated development: hands-on experience with AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot in VS Code and IntelliJ), effective prompt engineering, and AI-assisted code review, test generation, and refactoring. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates. If performed in New Jersey, the base pay range is $102,333 - $163,467.
