Role Description This part-time remote Site Reliability Engineer role focuses on ensuring the availability, performance, and reliability of production systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring services, responding to incidents, performing root cause analysis, and implementing long-term fixes to reduce repeat issues. The role involves collaborating with software development and operations teams to design, build, and maintain scalable, resilient infrastructure. The Site Reliability Engineer will create and maintain automation tools, improve deployment pipelines, manage system configurations, and contribute to documentation and runbooks. The position requires proactive identification of reliability risks, capacity planning, and participation in an on-call rotation aligned with team needs. Qualifications Demonstrated skills in Site Reliability Engineering and a solid understanding of reliability, scalability, and observability principles.Strong troubleshooting abilities and experience with incident response, root cause analysis, and performance optimization.Proficiency in Software Development practices, including scripting or programming in languages such as Python, Go, or similar.Hands-on experience in System Administration for Linux/Unix environments, including monitoring, configuration, and security best practices.Knowledge of Infrastructure concepts, such as cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization, and infrastructure-as-code tools.Familiarity with logging, metrics, and tracing tools, as well as CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote, part-time setting.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
