About The Role We're looking for a Platform Engineer to join our Platform Infrastructure team supporting Cumberland and FICCO's trading operations. In this role, you'll be the driving force behind how we deploy, observe, and scale our systems - making deployments faster, system health more visible, and infrastructure more self-service. Your focus will be on automating deployment patterns, building observability that actually surfaces signal over noise, and evolving our platforms to meet the demands of mission-critical trading. This role will be for our Chicago office. What You'll Do Converge and improve application deployment patterns across containerized and non-containerized workloadsBuild self-service infrastructure provisioning using Terraform/Terragrunt and AnsibleDrive CI/CD excellence and advocate for modern software delivery practicesEnhance monitoring and alerting to enable proactive capacity management and early failure detection - without the noiseResearch and implement technologies that improve container orchestration, workload management, and system visibilityLearn and support in-house tools for infrastructure management and deployment workflowsParticipate in on-call rotation to resolve trade-critical issues and identify opportunities for automationMaintain system security through regular patching, reporting, and compliance with security standardsChallenge the status quo and advocate for meaningful change What We're Looking For The Tech Experience supporting mission-critical, high-performance trading systemsStrong Kubernetes experience (deployment, troubleshooting, optimization)Proficiency with Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring and observabilitySolid Python skills for automation and toolingHands-on experience with Ansible and Terraform/TerragruntStrong Linux systems knowledgeUnderstanding of CI/CD pipelines and software delivery best practicesFamiliarity with TLS and network protocols (including multicast and WebSockets)Familiarity with AWS The Intangibles You learn quickly and genuinely enjoy exploring new technologyYou take ownership - problems don't sit idle on your watchYou communicate clearly, both in writing and conversation, especially across distributed teamsYou stay composed under pressure and manage competing priorities effectivelyYou can accommodate occasional off-hours calls and escalations The annual base salary range for this position is $140,000 to $180,000 depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and relevant skill set. The position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
