We are looking for an experienced and proactive HR Manager to join our team and lead the day to day function of the HR Department.
This is a hands-on role for an HR professional who enjoys working closely with people and managers, providing practical advice and helping to create a positive, engaged and high-performing workplace.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring we have the right people, processes and culture in place to support the continued growth of the business.
The Role
As HR Manager, you will oversee the full employee lifecycle and provide trusted HR support across the business, including:
Managing employee relations matters including performance management, investigations, hearings and outcomesCoordinating occupational health and medical referrals where requiredReviewing and developing HR policies, procedures, organisational structures and equality monitoringOverseeing weekly payroll and benefits administration, including pensions, healthcare, vehicles and Cycle to WorkMaintaining and developing HR systems in preparation for future integration with the Vortex HRISPartner with the Talent & Workforce Manager and hiring managers on workforce planning, recruitment requirements and selection, with Talent & Workforce leading the end-to-end recruitment process.Lead the HR elements of onboarding and internal employee movements, including promotions and transfers, ensuring a smooth employee experience.Manage the HR processes associated with leavers, ensuring all documentation, systems and internal processes are completed appropriately.Acting as the HR lead for apprenticeshipsIdentifying training and development needs and supporting managers to build their people-management capabilityProviding practical HR advice and guidance to managers and employeesSupporting people-related requirements within tender submissionsPreparing HR reports and presentations for senior management, using data and trends to inform decision-makingEnsuring continued compliance with employment legislation and best practice
About You
We’re looking for an HR professional who is:
Experienced in a generalist HR Manager or senior HR roleConfident managing complex employee relations mattersCommercially aware and able to build strong relationships with managers at all levelsHighly organised, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced environmentConfident using HR systems, HRIS/ATS platforms and Microsoft OfficeComfortable analysing HR data and turning it into meaningful informationA strong communicator who can provide clear, practical and credible HR advicePassionate about developing people and creating a positive workplace cultureAble to work independently while also being an effective member of the wider management team
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related disciplineCIPD Level 5 or 7 or equivalent professional qualification is highly desirableMinimum 4–6 years’ progressive HR experience, including at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or management capacityStrong working knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practiceExperience using HRIS, ATS and Microsoft Office systems
