As part of the Survey123 product engineering team, you will contribute to the design, quality, and delivery of real-world field data collection workflows, helping ensure our solutions meet the needs of users across industries and environments. Responsibilities Participate in the delivery of regular high-quality releases of Survey123 and related field apps that address real user needsWork closely with developers, designers, and other product engineers to help define, build, and validate product functionality, workflows, and user experienceRoutinely test software and mobile applications to ensure both development goals and real-world use cases are metContribute to understanding and shaping user workflows, translating field requirements into effective product behavior and user experienceIdentify gaps in functionality or workflow and provide input into product improvements and feature prioritizationAdvocate for product quality, usability, and consistency across platforms (mobile, web, and desktop)Contribute to documentation of features, workflows, and user guidanceSupport holistic testing activities and ensure learnings are incorporated into the development cycleCollaborate on test plans and contribute to automation where appropriate, with a focus on improving overall product quality Requirements 2+ years of GIS experience in a scientific or engineering environmentAbility to understand and analyze user workflows and apply GIS conceptsExperience as a creator or user of field data collection solutions, including use of both paper and digital toolsUnderstanding of field data collection workflows, including GNSS usage and mobile platform considerationsFamiliarity with the ArcGIS ecosystem, using products such as Survey123, QuickCapture, Field Maps, ArcGIS Online, or ArcGIS EnterpriseFamiliarity with mobile platforms (iOS, Android, Windows) and their capabilities/limitationsAbility to work closely with a team to build quality software in a constantly evolving environmentEffective time management and organizational skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsBachelor’s in computer science, engineering, GIS, or related fieldExisting work authorization for Australia Recommended Qualifications Experience or exposure to integration workflows (e.g., webhooks, Power Automate, APIs)Experience or exposure to manual and/or automated testing practices within a software development environmentExperience contributing to test creation (functional, regression, or integration testing)Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Git, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or similar)Basic scripting or programming experience to support testing, workflows, or automationMaster’s in computer science, engineering, GIS, or related field The Company At Esri, diversity is more than just a word on a map.
