This role is open for our offices in Amsterdam, Rotterdam Eindhoven and Groningen. The Role As part of our continued growth, ALTEN Nederland is looking for a Medior Data Engineer to strengthen our data engineering capabilities and contribute to complex, data-driven projects. Your Responsibilities As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for: Designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and jobs, primarily using DatabricksBuilding and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines in cloud environments (Azure and/or AWS)Working with Databricks Jobs, pipelines, Unity Catalog, and Databricks Asset BundlesCollecting, cleaning, transforming, and loading data for analytics and reportingDeveloping data solutions using Python, PySpark, and PandasApplying strong engineering practices, including unit testing and code reviewsWorking in a professional data environment with data governance, CI/CD pipelines, and Git integrationCollaborating within Agile/Scrum and DevOps teamsContributing to the optimization of data platforms in terms of performance, scalability, and reliability Your Profile We are looking for a candidate with: A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a comparable roleStrong hands-on experience with Databricks, including Jobs, pipelines, Unity Catalog, and Asset BundlesSolid programming skills in Python, including experience with PySpark and PandasExperience working in data-governed environments, including CI/CD, version control (Git), and automationA background in software development or computer science is a strong plusAffinity with and knowledge of mathematics and statisticsFamiliarity with Scrum, Agile, and DevOps ways of workingA proactive, positive, and eager-to-learn mindsetFluency in English and Dutch is a bonus What We Offer A company lease car with fuel cardHybrid working possibilitiesA monthly net expense allowance27 vacation days, with the option to purchase up to 10 additional daysA pension scheme with no personal contribution Why Choose ALTEN?
