Senior Security Engineer - Platform Security

As a senior security engineer for platform security at Gallup, you'll protect the cloud and infrastructure that power our global business while helping Gallup stay ahead of an ever-changing threat landscape. In this role, you'll strengthen security by design, lead incident response and partner across engineering teams to build resilient platforms that enable innovation. You'll have the autonomy to shape how Gallup builds, strengthens and continuously improves platform security. What You’ll Do Advise infrastructure and engineering teams on secure design for cloud platforms, enterprise infrastructure and endpoint environmentsDesign, implement and continuously improve security controls across Gallup's cloud and infrastructure environmentsConduct cloud security posture management (CSPM) reviews and infrastructure vulnerability assessments across network, system and cloud environmentsAdminister, optimize and tune Splunk SIEM and endpoint detection and response (EDR) platforms to improve visibility, detection and response capabilitiesEmbed security controls, metrics and best practices early in infrastructure initiatives through a shift-left approachLead and coordinate platform security incident response, providing calm, decisive technical leadership during high-impact eventsDevelop scripts and automation that improve security operations, monitoring and operational efficiencyContinuously assess emerging threats and evolving attack techniques, including those enabled by AI, and recommend practical improvements that strengthen Gallup's security posture What Makes You Stand Out Platform security expertise: You bring deep experience securing enterprise cloud and infrastructure environments across one or more major cloud platforms and understand both modern and traditional infrastructure.Adaptive problem solving: You enjoy moving between different technologies, quickly navigating new challenges and delivering practical, scalable solutions without losing momentum.Calm incident leadership: You remain composed during high-pressure security events, communicate clearly and make sound decisions that restore confidence and reduce risk.Trusted technical partnership: You translate complex security concepts into actionable guidance and build strong relationships with engineers and stakeholders across the organization.Ownership: You proactively identify opportunities to improve security, take responsibility for outcomes and consistently deliver high-quality work.Self-starter mindset: You thrive working independently while knowing when to involve others. What You Need Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information assurance, computer science or a related field requiredAt least five years of full-time professional experience securing enterprise cloud and infrastructure environments requiredDeep experience securing one or more cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365 or Oracle Cloud requiredHands-on experience administering and tuning Splunk SIEM and EDR platforms requiredExperience performing CSPM reviews and infrastructure vulnerability assessments requiredExperience leading or playing a significant role in security incident response requiredStrong scripting experience using Python, PowerShell, Bash or a comparable language requiredOSCP, Microsoft Azure Security Engineer, AWS Certified Security – Specialty or similar security certifications preferredExperience using AI tools to improve security operations or familiarity with emerging AI-enabled threats preferredA commitment to working on-site at Gallup's Omaha office at least three days per week required About Gallup At Gallup, we change the world, one client at a time, through extraordinary analytics and advice on everything important facing humankind. We also offer an estimated annual salary range of $115,000-$150,000 for this role. Salaries are based on a variety of factors, including an individual’s education, experience and skills.
