Senior Full Stack Software Engineer

Our client is a leading organization in the HVAC distribution industry, serving customers across North America through a robust network of branches, digital platforms, and eCommerce solutions. As part of ongoing investments in its digital and customer-facing technology ecosystem, the organization is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to join the team on a 12-month remote contract. This role will focus on developing and enhancing modern web applications, APIs, and digital commerce experiences that support customers and internal business operations. The ideal candidate is a strong full stack developer with experience across Next.js, Node.js, GraphQL, and PHP, and is comfortable owning projects from design through implementation. This is a fully remote position where success requires someone who is self-directed, curious, resourceful, and capable of delivering high-quality work with minimal oversight. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Next.js, Node.js, GraphQL, and PHPBuild and optimize GraphQL APIs to support customer-facing applications and internal systemsDevelop backend services and integrations that enable reliable data exchange across multiple platformsCollaborate closely with front-end developers, product teams, and technical stakeholders to deliver intuitive digital experiencesContribute across the full technology stack, supporting both front-end and back-end development initiativesParticipate in solution design, technical architecture discussions, and implementation planningTroubleshoot, debug, and resolve application performance and scalability issuesWrite clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following development best practicesConduct code reviews and contribute to overall code quality standardsSupport enhancements and modernization efforts across existing applications and digital commerce platformsWork effectively within an agile development environment while managing priorities independently Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in full stack software developmentStrong hands-on experience with Next.jsStrong backend development experience using Node.jsExperience building and maintaining GraphQL APIsProfessional experience working with PHPSolid understanding of modern JavaScript and/or TypeScript developmentExperience designing and integrating RESTful and GraphQL-based servicesStrong understanding of front-end development principles and responsive web applicationsExperience working on customer-facing web applications or digital platformsAbility to work independently and take ownership of deliverables in a remote environmentStrong communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
