Overview The Global Open Banking team is looking for a Cloud Software Engineer to support and evolve our multi-cloud platform (AWS and Azure). This role focuses on building reliable, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructure while supporting application teams across environments. The ideal candidate is hands-on, curious, and motivated to grow in cloud engineering, platform automation, and modern infrastructure practices. Role In This Role, You Will Cloud Engineering: Build and support cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure environments following secure-by-design and zero-trust principles Infrastructure as Code: Develop, maintain, and improve infrastructure using Terraform and automation scripts System Implementation: Assist in implementing new systems, tools, and frameworks to improve platform reliability and engineer productivity Environment Management: Support build, maintenance, and upgrades across Dev, Stage, and Production environments Observability & Operations: Work with logging, monitoring, and alerting tools to improve system visibility and reliability Kubernetes Support: Operate and support Kubernetes clusters (EKS, AKS, or similar) including scaling, upgrades, and troubleshooting Application Support: Partner with development teams to deploy and support cloud-native applications Security & Compliance: Ensure infrastructure aligns with enterprise security standards (zero-trust, least privilege, audit readiness) CI/CD Integration: Work with pipelines to enable automated and secure application delivery On-call Support: Participate in on-call rotation to support platform stability All About You Skills and Experience Required: Experience Level: 3–5 years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering Cloud Platforms: Working experience with AWS (preferred primary) Exposure to or working knowledge of Azure services (VMs, networking, storage, AKS) Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Terraform (required) Familiarity with modular infrastructure design and reusable components Kubernetes: Basic to intermediate experience managing Kubernetes clusters (EKS, AKS, or similar) Understanding of networking, scaling, and RBAC concepts Programming/Scripting: Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python or Bash preferred) CI/CD Pipelines: Experience with GitLab, GitHub Actions, or similar tools Linux Systems: Strong working knowledge of Linux systems and troubleshooting fundamentals Security Mindset: Understanding of secure cloud design principles (least privilege, network segmentation, identity-based access) Exposure to audit/compliance environments (PCI, SOC2, or similar is a plus) Networking Fundamentals: Understanding of VPC/VNET design, routing, DNS, and connectivity patterns Nice to Have Experience with AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) Exposure to WAF or edge technologies (Cloudflare, Akamai, Azure Front Door, etc.) Understanding of service mesh or advanced Kubernetes networking Experience with cloud cost optimization practices Exposure to multi-account / multi-subscription architecture Technology and Tools Cloud: AWS (EKS, EC2, IAM, VPC), Azure (AKS, VNET, Storage, IAM) Infrastructure: Terraform Containers: Kubernetes CI/CD: GitLab or equivalent OS: Linux Languages: Python / Bash (Go is a plus) Corporate Security Responsibility All activities involving access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks comes with an inherent risk to the organization and, therefore, it is expected that every person working for, or on behalf of, Mastercard is responsible for information security and must: Abide by Mastercard’s security policies and practices;Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed;Report any suspected information security violation or breach, andComplete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard’s guidelines.
