Description
About Coffee Meets BagelCoffee Meets Bagel is a women-founded company with a mission to give everyone a chance at love.
We build products that help people form meaningful connections and work closely across Engineering, Product, Design, and Data to solve meaningful customer and business problems.
We are modernizing both our product and engineering organization, investing in next-generation recommendation and GenAI capabilities and using AI-first development practices across the software lifecycle.
The RoleWe are looking for an iOS Engineer to build thoughtful, high-quality experiences for Coffee Meets Bagel users.
You will start with iOS as your primary area, working across the full product-development lifecycle from discovery and design through implementation, release, measurement, and iteration.
You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, backend, Android, and Data rather than operating as a client-only delivery engineer.
The role is intentionally designed for growth beyond a single platform.
As your experience develops, we encourage you to expand from iOS into Android and backend engineering, building broader ownership across the product and technology stack.
What You'll DoDesign, build, test, ship, and operate native iOS product experiences using Swift and modern iOS development practices.Participate in product and technical discovery—understanding why we are solving a problem, contributing ideas, evaluating tradeoffs, and helping shape solutions rather than only implementing predefined requirements.Partner closely with Product and Design to turn customer needs into intuitive, reliable, and technically sound mobile experiences.Collaborate with backend and Android engineers on APIs, shared product behavior, architecture, and cross-platform capabilities.Improve app architecture, performance, responsiveness, accessibility, reliability, testability, and maintainability as the product evolves.Take ownership beyond implementation, including automated testing, release quality, monitoring, debugging, production issues, and iteration based on user and product feedback.Use AI-assisted development across design, implementation, testing, debugging, review, and documentation while validating results with engineering judgment and appropriate testing.
What We're Looking For2+ years of professional software engineering experience preferred.
We are also open to new graduates with strong relevant internship experience and demonstrated mobile engineering fundamentals.Hands-on experience with Swift and native iOS development, with a solid understanding of the mobile application lifecycle.Strong programming fundamentals and working knowledge of mobile architecture, networking, concurrency, persistence, testing, and API integration.Strong ownership and attention to product quality, code quality, correctness, maintainability, performance, and user experience.Curiosity about the customer and business problems behind your work, with an interest in developing stronger product judgment and contributing to solution discovery.Interest in growing beyond a narrow iOS specialization and expanding into other mobile and technical domains as your skills and impact develop.
Nice to HaveAndroid development experience or interest in becoming productive on both mobile platforms.Experience building consumer-facing mobile productsExperience with mobile CI/CD, observability, analytics, or App Store release workflows.
Our Technology StackOur iOS development environment centers on Swift and native Apple frameworks, including SwiftUI/UIKit, REST APIs, local persistence, automated unit and UI testing, CI/CD, analytics, and observability tooling.
Y
ou do not need prior experience with every technology we use.
Strong engineering fundamentals, product curiosity, and the ability to learn quickly matter more.
How We WorkAt CMB, Engineering is not just a delivery function.
Engineers participate in product discovery, understand customer and business problems, contribute ideas, and share ownership of outcomes with Product and Design.
We expect product judgment to develop along with technical judgment.
We operate with an AI-first engineering culture, using AI throughout design, implementation, review, testing, debugging, and documentation while keeping engineers accountable for correctness, quality, security, and production outcomes.
We value depth plus breadth and encourage engineers to grow their technical range as their skills and impact develop.
