This is the job As a Senior Full-Stack Java Developer (f/m/x) at Avenga, you will work on complex software development and modernization initiatives for a major financial services customer in Germany. You will join a technically demanding banking environment focused on the re-engineering and further development of enterprise applications. Your role will combine hands-on Java development with software architecture, migration, testing, DevOps, and technical ownership. You will work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Subsystem Owners and other technical stakeholders, helping translate business requirements into reliable, secure and scalable software solutions. The role requires strong experience in financial services, excellent German communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a highly regulated enterprise environment. This is you You are a Senior Full-Stack Java Developer with strong experience in enterprise Java development and a solid understanding of software architecture and distributed systems. You are comfortable taking technical ownership, working with business and technical stakeholders, and contributing to complex modernization and migration initiatives. You bring: 5+ years of professional experience as a Full-Stack Java Developer in Java-based development projectsStrong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices and REST APIsStrong experience with software architecture, distributed systems and object-oriented data modellingProfessional experience in banking, financial services, securities or another regulated financial environmentStrong knowledge of connecting Java applications to relational databases, ideally PostgreSQLExperience with application modernization, re-engineering and migration projectsStrong experience with automated and manual testing, test automation and quality assuranceStrong knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps, version control, build and release managementExperience with private cloud environments, cloud migration, security, compliance and governancePractical experience with Large Language Models and their application in software developmentExperience with Clean Code, software design patterns, code reviews and secure coding practicesFluent German and English skills, both written and spoken This is your role In this role, you will take technical ownership of software development within your area of expertise, contributing to both hands-on implementation and the technological direction of the solution.
