Description

We are seeking a Doctoral or Postdoctoral Researcher in Low-Field Magnetic Resonance Imaging (LF-MRI) System Design & Engineering to expand our LF-MRI group. In collaboration with Fraunhofer MEVIS, we develop next-generation portable MRI systems by combining innovations in hardware, electromagnetic simulation, RF technology, and physics-informed AI for image reconstruction and noise cancellation. As one of the most promising directions in medical imaging, LF-MRI has the potential to bring MRI to the point of care, enabling new applications in primary care, mobile healthcare settings, and beyond. Your Key Responsibilities Investigate permanent magnet systems, including B0-field modeling, new shimming strategies, and magnetic field optimization for LF-MRI.Develop mechanical and thermal concepts for compact MRI systems, including gradient coil integration and thermal management.Design, prototype, and validate MRI system components through simulation and experimental testing.Integrate the developed concepts into our LF-MRI scanners to improve imaging performance, robustness, and manufacturability. Your Profile An excellent master’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, material sciences, physics, or a related field.Solid expertise in mechanical design & simulation in CAD.Independent and self-motivated, with a strong collaborative mindset.Passionate about advancing medical imaging through innovation.
