Mobile Applications Architect

Mobile Developer W2 Contract Pay Rate: $70 - $80 per hour Location: Dublin, CA - Hybrid Role Job Summary: The Mobile Applications Architect is responsible for architecting and designing modern enterprise mobile applications across iOS, Android, cross-platform, cloud-native, and integrated enterprise platforms. Working autonomously on complex business and technology challenges, this role establishes architectural standards and direction for mobile solutions, leveraging deep expertise in mobile technologies, Cloud services, APIs, and enterprise integrations to design scalable, secure, resilient, and user-centric applications. Duties and Responsibilities: Architect end-to-end enterprise mobile solutions across iOS, Android, and cross-platform technologies, delivering scalable, secure, resilient, and maintainable applications aligned with business and technology objectives.Define mobile architecture standards, design patterns, reference architectures, and governance practices to ensure consistency, quality, performance, and long-term sustainability across the mobile application portfolio.Own architecture for mobile application, integration, and data architecture, including APIs, event-driven integrations, messaging, offline synchronization, and data flows between mobile applications, cloud services, and on-premises systems.Define and enforce security, compliance, identity management, data protection, mobile device management (MDM), and non-functional requirements within mobile solution architectures.Ensure solution architecture drives exceptional user experience, performance, reliability, scalability, observability, and operational excellence by incorporating mobile engineering best practices throughout the application lifecycle.Lead the architecture and adoption of AI-enabled mobile application capabilities, including conversational experiences, intelligent assistants, personalization, agent-based experiences, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions to enhance user experiences.Produce and maintain architecture artifacts, technical designs, decision records, mobile application blueprints, and business process documentation that clearly communicate solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, UX/UI teams, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into well-architected mobile solutions and provide architectural leadership throughout the software development lifecycle.Guide mobile platform strategy, application lifecycle management, app store deployment processes, release management, device compatibility, and mobile technology modernization initiatives. Requirements and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.5+ years of experience in modern software engineering or solution architecture, including 3+ years in a solution architecture or mobile architecture-focused role.Proven experience architecting and delivering enterprise-scale mobile applications across iOS, Android, and/or cross-platform technologies.Strong expertise in mobile application architecture, including native mobile development patterns, mobile backend services, API-driven architectures, data synchronization, offline capabilities, push notifications, and mobile application security.Strong expertise in App Store and Google Play deployment strategies* Hands-on experience designing modern system architectures using mobile frameworks and technologies such as React Native, Flutter, Swift, Kotlin, or equivalent enterprise mobile platforms.Strong expertise in Cloud architecture, including application hosting, integration, identity and access management, networking, security, monitoring, and platform services.Experience designing and implementing mobile authentication and authorization solutions using OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, biometrics, multi-factor authentication, and enterprise identity providers.Demonstrated experience incorporating security, compliance, performance, scalability, resiliency, observability, accessibility, and operational excellence into mobile solution architectures.Strong understanding of AI-powered mobile experiences and intelligent assistants.Good understanding of application, integration, and data architecture principles, including experience designing solutions using relational and NoSQL databases.Experience creating architecture artifacts, technical designs, architecture decision records (ADRs), and related technical documentation.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into well-architected technical solutions.Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to navigate ambiguity and complex challenges.
