Summary ✨ AI‑Generated

An early-stage, science-driven health startup is seeking a computer vision and AI engineer to build reliable vision models across diverse smartphones and lighting conditions. You will develop personalized prediction methods using Bayesian and time-series techniques, combine model outputs with grounded LLM explanations, and establish robust evaluation, monitoring, and privacy-conscious data workflows for a regulated environment. The role is based in Berlin and offers a hybrid working arrangement.

Highlights

Join an early-stage, science-driven startup working on applied AI and computer vision in women's health. The role offers hands-on ownership of computer vision models, personalization, LLM-based explanations, evaluation, monitoring, and privacy-conscious data workflows in a regulated context.

Description

We are a pre-seed femtech startup building pHera: an ultra-precise colorimetric vaginal pH test that can be read with a smartphone using computer vision and AI for accuracy and personalisation. The system would detect colorimetric images and predict with a high level of accuracy discrete pH values, delivering lab-quality diagnostic precision to women and doctors - anytime, anywhere! Tasks Build computer vision models and ensure reliability across diverse phones and lighting. Personalize results using Bayesian hierarchies and time-series methods to learn individual baselines and detect meaningful changes. Pair model outputs with concise, evidence-backed explanations using LLMs with retrieval and citation grounding. Establish evaluation, monitoring, and privacy-minded data workflows suitable for a regulated context. Requirements Based in Berlin Eager to work in an early-stage, science-driven, female health startup Comfortable with ambiguity, self-directed, and proactive Benefits Hybrid work environment with office space in Berlin or remote EU-time-zone A competitive salary for 1 year with the possibility of extension pHera is closing the gender health gap! Most existing vaginal pH test strips are analog, low-resolution, visually subjective, and poorly suited for women’s health applications. Doctors need fast, reliable tools to help with complicated diagnoses. Women deserve clarity, not guesswork when managing their vaginal health from home. A high-resolution pH test can catch imbalances early, making it easier to monitor issues like bacterial vaginosis, recurring vaginal infections, sexually transmitted infections, ovulation, PCOS, and menopause. By building pHera, you would be building a tool that would advance women's health.
