Description

Azure Platform Engineer | Remote UK | £50,000–£60,000 Salary: £50,000–£60,000 Location: Fully remote, UK Security requirement: You must have lived continuously in the UK for the last 5 years due to the requirement to obtain SC Clearance. We’re looking for an experienced Azure Platform Engineer to join a well-established cloud engineering team responsible for building, supporting and improving production and non-production Azure environments for customers across the UK. This is a hands-on engineering role for somebody who enjoys working across a broad Azure estate, automating infrastructure, improving deployment processes and taking ownership of live cloud environments. You do not need experience with every Azure service listed below. We’re much more interested in somebody with strong commercial Azure experience, good Infrastructure as Code knowledge and experience working across a broad range of Azure services. What you’ll be working on You’ll help design, deploy, support and improve Azure environments across production and non-production, including: Azure API ManagementAzure Front DoorApplication GatewayAzure App ServicesAzure Function AppsApplication InsightsAzure Storage AccountsAzure Key VaultAzure Service BusAzure Data FactoryAzure Cosmos DBAzure SQL You’ll also work across Azure networking, identity, security, monitoring and automation. What we’re looking for We’d like to speak with engineers who have strong hands-on experience with: Microsoft Azure in commercial production environmentsInfrastructure as Code using Bicep, ARM Templates or TerraformAzure DevOps and CI/CD pipelinesBuilding and supporting production and non-production environmentsAzure networking, compute, storage, identity and securityMonitoring, alerting and troubleshootingIncident resolution and root-cause analysisAzure migrations or onboarding new customer environments Experience with Bicep or ARM Templates would be particularly valuable, although strong Terraform engineers with broad Azure experience are absolutely encouraged to apply. What kind of background could work? Your current job title does not need to be Azure Platform Engineer. We’d be interested in speaking with people currently working as: Azure EngineerAzure DevOps EngineerAzure Platform EngineerCloud EngineerCloud Platform EngineerSite Reliability EngineerDevOps EngineerAzure Infrastructure Engineer An SRE background is useful, particularly if you have experience with production reliability, monitoring, incidents and automation, but you do not need to currently be working as an SRE. Likewise, Kubernetes or AKS experience can be useful, but it is not a core requirement. The opportunity £50,000–£60,000 salaryPermanent positionFully remote working anywhere in the UKNo currently scheduled on-call rotaBroad and varied Azure estateExposure to engineering and customer-facing cloud delivery Important eligibility requirement Because this position requires SC Clearance, applicants must have lived continuously in the UK for the last 5 years. Unfortunately, if you do not meet this requirement, we will not be able to progress your application for this particular position. If you’re an Azure Engineer who wants broader ownership of cloud environments and the opportunity to work across IaC, Azure DevOps, migrations and a varied Azure PaaS estate, I’d be keen to speak with you. I actually think this version is stronger than the previous one because the £50k–£60k and five-year UK residency requirement are visible before anyone even gets into the advert. That should save you a fair amount of unsuitable applications over the weekend.
