Role: Senior Salesforce Solution Engineer - Salesforce Government Cloud Role: Senior Salesforce Solution Engineer Start Date: 09/14/2026 End Date: 09/10/2027 Location: Raleigh, NC Work Arrangement: Onsite - Raleigh, NC Interview: Webcam or In-PersonPosition OverviewThe State of North Carolina is seeking an experienced Senior Salesforce Solution Engineer to design, develop, and deliver end-to-end solutions on Salesforce Government Cloud supporting mission-critical child welfare program applications. This role will support public-sector business functions including case management, licensing, service operations, and related workflows. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on Salesforce development and solution design experience, with the ability to lead technical discovery, architecture/design discussions, integrations, and development activities. The Senior Salesforce Solution Engineer will ensure solutions align with business objectives, technical standards, security and compliance requirements, Salesforce platform governance, and long-term platform strategy. Only qualified candidates who are local to the Raleigh, NC area and able to work onsite will be considered. Required / Must-Have Skills5+ years of hands-on Salesforce experience, including configuration, customization, and solution design.5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience with:ApexLightning Web Components (LWC)Salesforce FlowsEnterprise integrations3+ years of experience supporting public-sector, government, regulated, or compliance-heavy environments, or equivalent experience working within complex, multi-team enterprise environments.3+ years of experience in a Senior/Lead technical capacity, including leading technical discovery, solution design sessions, development teams, or engineering initiatives.Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, platform governance, security, scalability, and maintainability.Experience designing and implementing Salesforce integrations with external systems.Ability to translate business and program requirements into scalable Salesforce solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Discovery & RequirementsLead technical discovery sessions with product owners, business stakeholders, and program teams.Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into Salesforce-based solutions.Evaluate solution alternatives and recommend scalable, maintainable, and cost-effective approaches.Solution Design & ArchitectureLead Salesforce solution design, integration architecture, technical blueprinting, and configuration strategies.Design solutions that align with Salesforce Government Cloud capabilities, enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, and platform governance.Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and aligned with the State's long-term Salesforce strategy.Salesforce Development & EngineeringDevelop and customize Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, and other Salesforce platform capabilities.Design and develop integrations between Salesforce and enterprise/external systems.Follow established development standards, coding practices, testing processes, deployment procedures, and Salesforce governance guidelines.Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide recommendations for performance and platform improvements.Salesforce Release ManagementReview Salesforce Spring, Summer, and Winter release notes to identify:Breaking changesDeprecated functionalityNew platform settings and featuresSecurity or configuration changesPotential impacts to existing applications and integrationsAssess the impact of Salesforce platform updates and recommend appropriate remediation or enhancement strategies.AI EnablementIdentify practical opportunities to leverage AI and intelligent automation within Salesforce solutions.Evaluate AI-driven capabilities that can improve case management, service delivery, workflow automation, and operational efficiency.Help incorporate emerging AI technologies while maintaining appropriate security, privacy, compliance, governance, and responsible-use standards.Collaboration & LeadershipCollaborate closely with product owners, business analysts, architects, developers, administrators, and program stakeholders.Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams.Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Contribute to technical standards, best practices, documentation, and continuous platform improvement.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Salesforce Government Cloud.Experience supporting child welfare, human services, healthcare, social services, or other government programs.Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Platform Developer, Platform App Builder, Administrator, or Application Architect.Experience with enterprise integration technologies and API-based architectures.Experience implementing Salesforce solutions in highly regulated or security-sensitive environments.Experience with Salesforce AI capabilities, intelligent automation, or emerging Salesforce technologies.
