We are looking for a Global Air Logistics IT (Senior) Software Engineer to join our team in Milton Keynes and help us build and evolve the applications that keep time-critical perishable shipments moving around the world. You will work on KN FreshLOG as part of our Air Perishables Digital Product Landscape and the wider suite of applications our operational teams rely on every day. As part of the team, you will design and implement solutions in Java following agile principles, work closely with business stakeholders, and contribute to the continuous optimisation of our systems. We welcome candidates at all levels — from junior developers with strong Java fundamentals through to senior engineers with Air Logistics domain experience and a track record of contributing to architecture decisions in distributed teams. How you create impact Work with operational and product stakeholders to analyse business processes, then design and implement solutions end-to-end Participate actively in design and architecture discussions Write clean, well-tested code following our engineering standards and the principles of the Agile ManifestoBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines; contribute to containerisation and cloud deployments Continuously optimise, stabilise and improve existing Air Perishables applications Partner with business leaders, operational teams and technology colleagues to deliver innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency Evaluate emerging technologies and share findings and recommendations with colleagues Engage in regular sprint ceremonies: stand-ups, planning, code reviews and retrospectives What we would like you to bring Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; a Master's degree is advantageous.Strong foundational or production-level experience as a full-stack Java developer, including core skills of Java (17+) and Strong technical expertise in Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, JUnit, CI/CD pipelines, Git, Maven, and DockerExperience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, modern frameworks (e.g., Angular, TypeScript), mobile technologies (PWA, Ionic), relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), and API/system integrations including RESTful services and Kafka.Practical agile / Kanban experience in distributed or international teams, with the ability to work independently, take initiative and resolve ambiguityExperience with the latest AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code) to streamline the development processBasic understanding of Air Perishables operations and processes is advantageous. Good Communication skills and the ability to work within a global environment.
