Role Description
We are seeking a full-time Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain software supporting seqSight’s core products and internal tools.
Responsibilities include:
Developing back-end services and scalable software systemsIntegrating data sources, databases, and APIsBuilding and maintaining cloud-computing infrastructureImplementing and deploying AI and machine-learning modelsWriting clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-tested codeDebugging and optimizing existing applicationsContributing to architecture discussions and code reviewsCollaborating with product, data, and scientific teams to translate research methods into reliable software productsThis is a full-time, on-site position based in Washington, DC.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in health data science, computer science, engineering, data science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experienceStrong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and software-design principlesProficiency in Python, Java, C++, or another modern programming languageExperience with back-end development, APIs, databases, and server-side frameworksStrong understanding of object-oriented programmingExperience with Git and collaborative development workflowsAbility to write maintainable, well-tested code and troubleshoot existing systemsStrong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skillsInterest in genomics, bioinformatics, AI, or biomedical applicationsFamiliarity with cloud platforms, containers, or CI/CD pipelines is beneficial
