Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and technically minded Application & Support Engineer to join our growing team in Hitchin. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with early-career experience in Building Management Systems (BMS), SCADA or control systems who is looking to develop their expertise in a customer-facing technical role. You will work closely with experienced engineers and international teams, receiving structured mentoring and training before progressing into a role that combines technical support, consultancy, customer training, commissioning support and pre-sales activities. Responsibilities Provide technical support to customers via telephone, remote access and occasional site visits. Deliver user training and technical workshops to customers and stakeholders. Support commissioning, integration and implementation activities. Assist customers with troubleshooting, diagnostics and issue resolution. Participate in technical consultancy activities during customer projects. Support the sales function through technical demonstrations and proof-of-concept activities. Work collaboratively with engineering and product development teams to test and validate software releases. Produce and maintain technical documentation, user guides and knowledge articles. Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and best practice development. Qualifications Degree, Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in: Control Systems Engineering Automation Engineering Mechatronics Electrical Engineering Building Services Engineering Essential Skills Exposure to at least one of the following platforms: Niagara / Tridium Trend IQ Siemens Desigo Schneider EcoStruxure JCI Metasys Distech Understanding of industrial and building automation protocols such as: BACnet Modbus OPC UA Strong communication skills with the confidence to interact directly with customers. Ability to learn new technologies and systems quickly. Full UK Driving Licence. Right to work in the UK without sponsorship. Able to commute to Hitchin on a regular basis. Desired Skills Exposure to commercial real estate, rail, critical infrastructure or data centre environments. Knowledge of software scripting or programming languages including: Python JavaScript C# Experience Experience within Building Management Systems (BMS), SCADA, automation, controls or related engineering environments would be an advantage Experience within commissioning, service engineering, technical support or controls engineering environments. Experience delivering customer training, demonstrations or technical presentations. Previous experience within technical customer support or pre-sales environments.
