Direct Hire Requisition - Release only to Expedite What: The Website Development team will provide strategic direction for the website development, marketing, and educational assistance. (*** for 3 or more sites) Overview: TDTD will work with a a Website Development Team to create up to 3+ county-wide tourism-specific websites for rural counties across the state. As part of the program participating counties must take part in a website management educational course. After the program participating counties must show competence in general website management tasks (to be defined by the Website Development Team and TDTD) for complete cost forgiveness. Who’s Eligible: Up to 3 DMO’s of at-risk or distressed counties, counties with this designated status from the year 2021-2024. Expectations: Tourism-specific website: Templated website consisting of below pages (This may be too many pages), for cost-saving measure the same template will be used for each website and information must be provided by the DMO. (Discussion will be needed with the contractor to fully understand what is possible here.) Home Page Lodging Dining Shopping Events Things to do: (Outdoor Recreation, Cultural Heritage, Arts & Architecture, Scenic Opportunities, fishing/hunting, agritourism) Tourism-specific Unique URL Website must be built on a WordPress platform DMO will be required to provide all content and copy with assistance from TDTD Pages can be added to existing chamber/county site if it is currently built on WordPress and a Unique URL is used to take visitor directly to tourism Home Page. If needed set up hosting (DMO Incurred reoccurring Cost) 12 months of technical assistance from completion date of website WordPress Educational Course: TDTD will work with a Website Development company to create a multipart virtual educational series. This series will be focused on providing Rural DMO’s the skills necessary to make basic day-to-day updates on their new tourism-specific site. Course topics could include the following: (Timeline for the course will need to be discussed) Basic Computer Skills Web Browsing WordPress Basics WordPress Themes WordPress Plugins Content Management Search Engine Optimization Security Best Practices Backup and Restore Troubleshooting Skills Timeline: Website should be completed and Rural DMO must have participated in all educational courses in less than 6 months. Development team will provide technical assistance for 12 months after the completion date of website (parameters of assistance will be provided by website development team)
