Resume must be in English Location: Toronto, CA - Onsite Engagement: Contract, Long Term, Full Time Role Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Java Staff/Lead Engineer to join our team in Downtown Toronto. This is a hands-on engineering position where you will be responsible for designing architecture and writing production code for distributed systems. Tech Stack: JavaSpring BootAWSAPIs and MicroservicesEvent-driven ArchitectureKey Responsibilities: Design and implement production-grade distributed systems.Develop and maintain microservices using Java and Spring Boot.Architect solutions for event-driven systems.Utilize AWS services for compute, storage, networking, and IAM.Support ML inference pipelines and integrations.Lead technical design decisions and deliver production code.Required Skills: Deep expertise in Java and Spring Boot.Strong experience with distributed systems and microservices.Proficiency in event-driven architecture.Extensive AWS experience.Experience with greenfield or zero-to-one product development.Ability to translate business goals into technical architecture.Experience with GitHub Copilot and LLM-powered development workflows.Comfortable working at startup speed with evolving requirements.Strongly Preferred Skills: Experience with edge computing or CDN execution.Knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript for edge runtimes.Understanding of JWT/JWS, OAuth 2.0, and security platforms.Experience with Python and Databricks.Familiarity with distributed tracing and observability.
