Lead Cloud DevOps Engineer MISUMI Americas | Oakland, CA (Onsite / Local Candidates Required) Base Salary: $180,000 – $220,000 USD Depending on Experience MISUMI Americas builds the digital infrastructure behind how the world's hardware gets designed and manufactured. We're looking for a Lead Cloud DevOps Engineer to take ownership of the AWS infrastructure that runs our multi-regional, global platform — someone who wants to be hands-on with CloudFormation and Node.js every day, not just architecting on a whiteboard. This is a builder's role. You'll lead infrastructure projects end to end — architecture, implementation, debugging, optimization — while writing the Node.js tools and services that keep deployment, monitoring, and platform operations running smoothly. You'll work closely with engineering, security, and product teams to keep our systems reliable, secure, scalable, and cost-efficient as we grow. This position is based in Oakland, CA. Candidates must be located in Oakland or the greater Bay Area and able to work onsite as required. What You'll Own Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure using CloudFormation as our primary Infrastructure-as-Code toolOwn and evolve our AWS environments for high availability, scalability, failover, and securityLead infrastructure projects from planning through execution, mentoring and guiding a small teamBuild and maintain Node.js–based tools and services for automation, deployment workflows, monitoring, and platform operationsDesign, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deploymentsSet up and manage logging, monitoring, and alerting across our AWS environmentsPerform infrastructure upgrades and improvements while minimizing downtimeTroubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across infrastructure, applications, and CI/CD systemsDrive initiatives that improve performance, reliability, security posture, and cloud cost efficiencyCollaborate cross-functionally with engineering, security, and operationsMaintain clear documentation of infrastructure, automation, and operational processesContribute to and uphold MISUMI Americas' Quality Management System (QMS) What You Bring Location & Authorization Based in Oakland, CA / greater Bay Area, with the ability to work onsite as requiredU.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder) Experience 10+ years in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or Systems Engineering5+ years of hands-on, production experience writing Node.js code — building services, automation, or internal tools, not just deploying Node.js applicationsExpert-level, hands-on AWS experience across EC2, Lambda, IAM, VPC, S3, CloudWatch, RDS, CodeBuild, and Elastic BeanstalkExtensive, real-world CloudFormation experience: authoring and maintaining complex templates, managing stacks across multiple environments, and handling updates, rollbacks, drift detection, and full stack lifecycle managementStrong track record designing and operating CI/CD pipelinesHands-on experience debugging systems and applications in productionExperience with database performance tuning and optimizationSolid grasp of AWS security best practices — IAM, networking, encryption, least-privilege accessStrong Linux systems experienceExcellent written and verbal communication skills Nice to Have Experience leading or mentoring engineers on infrastructure projectsExperience operating multi-region or globally distributed AWS environmentsFamiliarity with containerized workloads (ECS, EKS)Cloud cost optimization / FinOps experienceBackground in fast-growing or high-scale engineering organizations Compensation & Benefits Base salary: $180,000 – $220,000 USD (actual offer depends on experience, skills, and role fit)Competitive medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) planParental leave programsPaid volunteer daysAnd much, much more Why MISUMI Americas You'll work on real, complex infrastructure that supports the design and manufacturing of physical products around the world.
