Program Overview Provides IC data management support to modernize mega data repositories, dataflow management, data provenance and compliance validation, and streaming solutions. About The Role The team is seeking a Senior Level Cloud Software Engineer. This is a position on a large, complex product development team. The candidate will have a primary focus of supporting all aspects of agile software design and development for products that are integrated into systems on large scale compute clusters. Duties include design & development of new capabilities, testing, optimization & performance tuning, and operation & sustainment functions. As a Senior Cloud Software Engineer, you are expected to perform requirements analysis, software design, development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution at a high level of proficiency and independence. You are expected to communicate directions and provide guidance to more junior programmer/analysts, as required. Cloud Software Engineers must be adept at developing solutions which integrated or extended COTS or GOTS products. Additionally, Cloud Software Engineers may be responsible for evaluating project needs, determining tasks and durations, creating/executing test cases, creating SOPs and Documentation, Code Reviews, and generating and reviewing designs for technical accuracy, completeness. Core Required Competencies and Skills: Strong experience with Java ProgrammingProficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Ansible and PuppetExpertise in Continuous Integration, Deployment, Testing and Monitoring practicesJava programming for distributed systems, with experience in networking and multi-threadingAgile development experience with source code management practices and toolsWell-grounded in Linux fundamentals and knowledge in at least one scripting language (e.g. Python, Ruby, Perl, etc.)Familiarity with microservices software development technique and container-orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)Familiarity with Containerization (e.g. Docker)Rotating Tier III On-Call Support & Emergency Surge Support may be requiredWork is in the customer office, regular/guaranteed telework is not generally supported at this time. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
