Software Engineer

As a growing technology team at Dexters, we are seeking enthusiastic and skilled Software Engineers to join our team. You will have an impact across the full portfolio of Dexters products, playing a key role in designing, building, and evolving the systems that power our business. You will help shape how we develop, improve, and scale our platforms, ensuring high-quality, maintainable software at all times. We are looking for someone who champions strong engineering principles, takes ownership of features from concept through to delivery, and collaborates closely with Product, QA, and other stakeholders. Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 Location: Hybrid (very occasional travel to London) Key Responsibilities Build & Deliver New Features – Take a leading role in designing, developing, and deploying new features and products.Break Down Complex Requirements – Analyse and decompose complex business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.Collaborate Across Teams – Work closely with developers and other areas of the business to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with company objectives.Maintain Code Quality & Standards – Write concise, SOLID, and extensible code that provides a strong foundation for future scalability. Requirements: Strong OOP programming skills (PHP)Analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesAbility to understand and break down complex requirementsAutomated testing experienceSource control experienceLaravel framework experience Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience with modern frontend frameworks (e.g., Vue)HTML, JavaScript, CSS (SASS)Experience building REST APIsFamiliarity with DockerGo Technical Values Passion: You should be passionate about your work and eager to grow both professionally and personally. Interview Process All applicants will be required to complete a pair programming exercise alongside one of our Senior Engineers.
