Senior .NET Engineer / Technical Specialist Are you an experienced .NET Engineer who enjoys going beyond standard application development and wants to work in a complex enterprise environment? We are looking for a Senior .NET Engineer who can bring strong technical depth to the team and act as an important technical sparring partner. You will join an environment that is actively modernising, with a strong focus on software quality, scalability and engineering standards. This is not a formal people-management role, but you will be expected to take technical ownership and help raise the engineering level of the team. What will you be working on? You will work on business-critical software and be involved across the full development lifecycle, from analysis and design through development, testing, deployment and monitoring. Your responsibilities will include: Designing and developing robust .NET applications and servicesBuilding REST APIs and complex integrationsWorking with .NET / .NET Core, Entity Framework and MS SQLApplying Domain Driven Design, Dependency Injection and Onion ArchitectureContributing to architectural decisions and engineering standardsImproving CI/CD pipelines and automated testingWorking within an Azure Cloud environment and supporting further cloud modernisationPerforming code reviews and technical sparring with colleaguesSupporting and coaching less experienced engineersContributing to security, RBAC and observabilityTranslating complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions What are we looking for? We are looking for someone who is genuinely strong technically. Not just someone who has worked with the right frameworks, but someone who can analyse complex problems, make well-founded technical decisions and build the solution themselves. Ideally, you bring: At least 5 years of relevant experience as a .NET Developer / EngineerStrong knowledge of C# and .NET / .NET CoreExperience with Entity Framework and MS SQLExperience building REST APIs and integrationsStrong understanding of software architecture and design patternsPractical experience with Domain Driven DesignExperience with Dependency Injection and Onion ArchitectureExperience with AzureExperience with Git, CI/CD and automated testingExperience with Azure DevOps, pipelines or similar toolingKnowledge of RBAC and security-by-design is a strong plusBachelor's or Master's level working and thinking ability What else is important? Technical depth is essential, but communication is just as important. You should be comfortable explaining technical decisions clearly, challenging existing approaches and working closely with developers, architects, Product Owners and other stakeholders. You do not need to be interested in people management. This role is particularly suitable for someone who wants to remain technically hands-on while having a high level of influence within the team.
