Senior .NET Azure API Developer Location: Canada – Remote Type: Contract Must Have - Google ADK Overview We are seeking a Senior .NET Azure API Developer with strong experience in designing and developing scalable, secure, and high-performance REST APIs using C# and the latest .NET technologies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Azure Functions, Azure App Services, Service Bus, Event Hubs, Blob Storage, Cosmos DB, and Azure platform services. The role will focus on building high-throughput APIs, integrating internal and third-party systems, implementing cloud-native integration patterns, and supporting secure CI/CD deployments in a production environment. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain REST APIs using C# and .NET 7/8.Build end-to-end API solutions integrating with internal enterprise systems and external/third-party APIs.Develop and maintain Azure Functions using multiple triggers, including:HTTPTimerService BusEvent GridDevelop high-throughput, low-latency APIs capable of handling millions of transactions.Work extensively with Azure Service Bus, Event Hubs, Blob Storage, and Cosmos DB.Build and deploy APIs using Azure App Services and other Azure platform services.Implement authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0, JWT, and Azure AD / Microsoft Entra ID.Apply API integration and resiliency patterns including timeouts, retries, circuit breakers, and idempotency.Design scalable data solutions using Azure Cosmos DB and other distributed data stores.Implement structured logging, application metrics, and distributed tracing using Azure Application Insights and Azure Monitor.Ensure APIs meet enterprise standards for security, scalability, availability, and performance.Develop secure and reliable deployment processes using CI/CD pipelines and automation.Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to performance optimization and reliability improvements.Collaborate with architects, developers, QA, DevOps, and business teams to deliver cloud-based solutions.Required Qualifications 3+ years of professional experience in software development, with strong experience in the areas outlined below.Strong hands-on experience with C# and modern .NET, specifically .NET 7/8.Proven experience developing end-to-end REST APIs.Strong experience integrating APIs with internal systems and external/third-party APIs.Hands-on experience developing Azure Functions with multiple trigger types.Experience with Azure Service Bus, Event Hubs, and Blob Storage.Experience with Azure Cosmos DB.Experience with Azure App Services and core Azure platform services.Strong understanding of API security, OAuth 2.0, JWT, Azure AD / Microsoft Entra ID.Experience implementing resiliency and integration patterns such as retries, timeouts, circuit breakers, and idempotency.Experience with Application Insights and Azure Monitor for logging, monitoring, metrics, and distributed tracing.Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.Strong understanding of scalable, distributed, and cloud-native application architectures.Good to Have Experience with Azure Container Apps.Experience with Docker and containerized workloads.Exposure to microservices and event-driven architectures.Experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.Experience building highly available and fault-tolerant enterprise applications.
