ABOUT JIGSAW FINANCE Jigsaw Finance is a UK-based vehicle finance broker. We work with a substantial panel of motor finance lenders to serve customers across all credit profiles — from those with excellent credit ratings through to customers with adverse history who have previously had difficulty obtaining finance. Due to ongoing growth, we are looking to recruit an additional Software Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will help maintain and improve our existing systems while contributing to the development of new projects. WHAT WE BUILD As a finance broker that manages its technology entirely in-house, our engineering team owns and operates a broad range of systems and products, including: A full-featured CRM with 40+ direct lender integrationsExternal APIs consumed by third-party integrators and partnersFinance application forms and calculators used by dealers and introducersA dealer portal for lender quoting and deal managementAn internal quoting engineDirect integrations with credit reference agenciesThis is a role with real variety and genuine technical depth — the successful candidate will be working across a wide range of systems and problem domains. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain, improve, and extend existing .NET applications and servicesContribute to the design and development of new software projectsIntegrate with and maintain external API connections (REST and SOAP)Write clean, maintainable code aligned with SOLID principlesParticipate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practicesSupport internal stakeholders with questions and issues relating to in-house softwareWork collaboratively within the engineering team and independently where required LOCATION & WORKING ARRANGEMENTS This is a primarily remote role, however some office attendance will be required. The successful candidate must be able to travel to our Macclesfield and Stoke-on-Trent offices for stakeholder meetings and other business requirements. REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Core .NET Development At least 2 years of commercial .NET development experienceExperience across a range of .NET versions, from .NET Framework 4.8 through to .NET 8Experience with ASP.NET MVC 5Demonstrable understanding and application of SOLID principlesAsynchronous programming using async/await patternsDebugging and performance profilingData & Back-End Experience with SQL Server and T-SQLExperience with Entity Framework (Code First)Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIsExperience integrating with external APIs (REST and SOAP)Front-End Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScriptTools & Workflow Git and source control best practices PREFERRED SKILLS Experience with AngularExperience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Management, Azure Functions, and Service Bus / Message QueuesExperience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline configurationExperience with DockerExperience implementing AI solutions, such as large language model integrations or machine learning pipelines PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and manage your own workloadStrong communicator, comfortable liaising with both technical and non-technical colleaguesA collaborative team player who is also capable of working independentlyDetail-oriented with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving
